WorkAble OH is an independent, doctor‑led occupational health practice with clinics in Bristol and Chepstow.

We provide occupational health assessments, workplace medicals and HSE health surveillance for employers in Bristol, South Wales and across the UK.

Booking is online using our booking page. The Employee sees an occupational health physician within 2 working days. We issue certificates on the same day and clear OH reports within two days.

We provide occupational health assessments for employers who need advice on fitness for work, return to work after sickness absence, and workplace adjustments.
We also provide statutory health surveillance for employers with duties under COSHH 2002, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 and the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017.

Our offshore OEUK medicals and wind turbine medicals follow current OEUK and Energy Institute 2025 guidelines.
All our services comply with UK GDPR and the Equality Act 2010. Health records are special category data under Article 9 UK GDPR, stored on UK‑based servers and accessible only to the assessing physician.

Employers and self-employed workers can book appointments online at any time without a contract or retainer.

Most appointments are available within one to two working days in Bristol, Chepstow, or remotely. On‑site visits are available to your workplace (peripatetic service), fees apply.

We offer urgent evening and weekend appointments for time‑sensitive cases, with additional fees.

Certificates for medicals are issued on the day. Occupational Health Reports are issued within two working days of the assessment. The employer, with the employee’s consent, receives a clear occupational health report explaining how their health affects their work and what adjustments may help.

We have provided occupational health services since 2010 to employers in construction, recycling, transport, energy, offshore wind, ports, public sector, health and care, education, agriculture, manufacturing and voluntary organisations.
We also support other occupational health providers who need additional physician capacity.

We serve employers in Bristol, Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff, Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire.
We attend industrial sites in Avonmouth and Severnside and provide remote assessments across the UK.

Dr Greg Palka MD AFOM MSc
Occupational Health Physician

All assessments are carried out by Dr Greg Palka. He holds an MD, an MSc in Occupational Medicine from the University of Manchester, and is an associate member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (AFOM) and a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine. He is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and follows GMC Good Medical Practice and Faculty of Occupational Medicine Good Occupational Medical Practice guidance.

Dr Palka is appointed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to conduct statutory medical surveillance, including asbestos, ionising radiation, lead and COSHH medicals.

He is a certified HAVS medical examiner and an OEUK‑registered examiner for offshore and wind energy medicals. Dr Palka has worked in occupational medicine since 2010 across construction, transport, energy, health and care, education and the voluntary sector.

He has published work on workplace stress management and contributed to OH guidelines on ill‑health retirement, health surveillance and construction work.

Dr Palka is bilingual in English and Polish, so full assessments, consultations and reports can be provided in Polish

Yes. WorkAble OH Ltd is registered in England and Wales.
Dr Greg Palka is registered with the GMC and follows GMC and Faculty of Occupational Medicine professional standards.

Who can refer to your service?

Employers, HR teams, and line managers can refer employees directly.
We also accept self‑referrals for specific medicals, such as OEUK, wind turbine, or safety-critical medicals.

Do you need a contract or retainer?

No. You can book individual appointments online without a contract.
Fees are fixed and listed on our occupational health services and fees page.
Bulk pricing is available for larger groups or regular referrals.

How does the service support the Equality Act 2010?

Our reports advise on whether a health condition may meet the definition of disability under the Equality Act 2010.
We recommend reasonable adjustments where appropriate. This helps employers meet their duty of care without relying on assumptions.

Can I have my assessment in Polish?

Yes. Full assessments, consultations and reports can be provided in Polish.
Polish‑speaking employees can attend in Bristol or Chepstow, or be assessed by secure video anywhere in the UK.
